Agent Homeschooling 2015-2016: Week 25

The Agents and I do not move through material as quickly or as enthusiastically the week before a break. Mostly we’re just trying to finish up stuff so we can get to a good stopping point before we hit the pause button for a while. We already took a week off for Thanksgiving and now we will be taking two weeks off for Christmas. Did I mention we’re also going on vacation in January? So, a bit of a stop-and-go feel to this time of year. It sounded like a good idea at the time {when planning back in June} but I think I will structure next year differently. That’s one great thing about year-round schooling, though: We can ebb and flow like this and I know it will all work out in the end.

Here’s a summary of what we did this week:
  • Math {4th}: measurement, probability, data, fractions
  • Math {2nd}: addition, subtraction, telling time, intro to division
  • Language Arts {4th}: review of nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs; homophones; sentence structure; spelling; synonyms
  • Spanish: review of months, colors, food, animals
  • Geography: rock cycle, soil
  • History: 100-1 BCE, Julius Caesar, Cleopatra
  • World Religions: Judaism
  • Science: Charles Darwin, rodents
  • Health: respiratory system
  • Art: select famous sculptures
  • Music: Johann Sebastian Bach
